Tom Lewis & Associates sold its development activities pursuant to a transaction whereby Mr. Lewis became Director, member of the Executive Committee and President of Avatar Holdings, Inc., a publicly held diversified Real Estate Company. Avatar, with operations in eight states, was actively involved in:

  • Land Development
  • Golf Course Community Development
  • Residential Development
  • Industrial Park Development
  • Public Utilities
  • Mortgage Banking
  • Title Insurance
  • Cable Television

Avatar had assets in excess of one billion dollars and employed over 1,500 people. Mr. Lewis served the company as President and Board Member and member of the Executive Committee. At that time, Avatar Holdings employed in excess of 15,000 people and had assets over 2 billion. In 1984, Mr. Lewis resigned as President of Avatar Holdings, Inc. and its related subsidiaries and continued as Director and member of the Executive Committee through 1985.
